Ecrins National Park
Ecrins Park the green lung of the Hautes-Alpes!
Between the Northern Alps and the Southern Alps, the endless valleys of the Ecrins Park are drawn thanks to 11,000 ha of glaciers. A landscape where nature and culture of an immense heritage rub shoulders.
Many species (167) of fauna, some of which are protected, such as eagles, chamois, ibex, marmots, black grouse, ptarmigan, arctic foxes, and ermine, populate this massif of the Ecrins Park, culminating at 4,102 m altitude (including 150 peaks between 3,000 and 4,000 m).
A rich and exceptional flora with 1,800 species (nearly half of the national flora) which makes up the rich heritage of our region.
You will find rare species such as the blue thistle, the lily, the “people” of the gentians… by reaching the summits you will have the privilege of admiring androsace, saxifage, silène, génépi, edelweiss, etc.
